I understand why the NRL had to move on punching and fighting – even if it was yet another reactionary step. To do otherwise would simply not have been worth the media, special interest and vested interest campaign that would have escalated. I have been looking over the “players behaving badly” incidents over the last couple of years. There is no stand out common factor relating to age, club, ethnic background or playing position. The Blues were far too good last night – and complaints about different rules applying to Origin matches simply ignore history! Origin rules, especially when it comes to rough and foul play have been different from the very first Origin match over 30 years ago.
